Welcome to the website for health care professionals in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.   

Our department is part of a leading institution that is affiliated with several hospitals in Dallas.  Clinical operations are conducted at Parkland Health and Hospital System, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, St. Paul University Hospital, The Eugene McDermott Center for Pain Management, Children's Medical Center Dallas, VA North Texas Health Care System, and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  All anesthesiology subspecialties are represented, including Cardiothoracic, Pediatric, Obstetric, Pain Management, Critical Care, and Neuroanesthesiology.  In addition, Zale Lipshy and St. Paul University Hospitals are both active ambulatory surgery settings.

This department has a long history of excellence in educating anesthesiologists and promoting the field of anesthesiology through professional activities such as research and participation in local, state and national societies and associations.   Both basic science and clinical research are conducted within the department, resulting in a significant amount of publications in leading anesthesiology and medical journals.  A detailed listing of these activities can be viewed from our  Research in Anesthesiology and Pain Management home page.
