Patients are generally referred to the Moncrief Radiation Oncology Center by their oncologist, but patients and doctors may make an appointment by calling 214-645-8525 or faxing a request to 214-645-8526.
Patients’ medical records are an important part of their first visits to UT Southwestern Medical Center. Usually, their physicians will provide all reports, X-ray films and test results to them or UT Southwestern. Patients are asked to bring their medical records with them or verify that our staff has received the pertinent reports from their doctors.
When the patient arrives for the first appointment, our staff will ask for information such as the patient's name, phone number, insurance provider and policy number, and the name/phone number of the referring physician. Then, during the initial examination, the physician will speak with the patient about their symptoms, condition and medical history.
After-Hours and Emergency Care
Current patients with an urgent problem or needing to see a physician immediately should call UT Southwestern at 214-648-3111 to speak with an operator who will page our on-call physician.
If a patient has a problem that is life threatening, call 911 immediately and go to the nearest emergency room; UT Southwestern’s emergency room is located at UT Southwestern University Hospital at 5909 Harry Hines Blvd. (at Inwood Road), in Dallas.
If a patient is taken to another hospital’s emergency room, family members should inform the emergency room staff that the individual is a patient at UT Southwestern. After the patient’s condition is stabilized, the individual can be transferred to UT Southwestern. The emergency room physician will notify UT Southwestern’s on-call doctor, who will determine the best approach for transfer.
