Our family medicine physicians are experts in diagnosing and treating childhood illnesses and providing developmental screening to monitor that children are on a healthy path for growth. Our program provides adults and seniors with advanced care for conditions such as high blood pressure and bone, joint and muscle disorders. Well-woman care and maternity care are also a part of our family medicine program.
Our assessment and screening programs for cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions enable our patients to take advantage of the health benefits of early diagnosis. Through a careful evaluation of the individual’s susceptibility to illness, our family medicine physicians can help greatly reduce the development or progression of a wide variety of conditions.
If specialty care is needed, our family medicine physicians refer patients to the appropriate specialist while continuing to manage overall health care. Patients may also use MyChart to review test results, diagnosis information, medications, allergies, immunizations and future appointments. At UT Southwestern Medical Center, our family medicine specialists are attentive to patient needs and are available for same-day appointments for established patients (new patients are typically seen within 48 to 72 hours). Our commitment to patients and their families is to deliver the highest standards of medical care in an easily accessible environment.
